Everybody should become a tutor in the community: CR&DALL Seminar, 29th January 2020 - Tiina Tambaum

In the twenty-first century non-professional tutors, including teenagers, have an important role to play in the development of contemporary skills among the older population.  The aim of the seminar is to describe the instructional design for teenage tutors' instruction in order to prepare them to become a facilitator for older persons’ in e-skill learning.

Higher Education in a Globalising World: Community engagement and lifelong learning

This book focuses on current policy discourse in Higher Education, with special reference to Europe. It discusses globalisation, Lifelong Learning, the EU's Higher Education discourse, this discourse's regional ramifications and alternative practices in Higher Education from both the minority and majority worlds with their different learning traditions and epistemologies (MUP, 2019).

CR&DALL Seminar Series: Adult Education in New Zealand|Aotearoa: Hope or despair?

Adult Education in New Zealand has been in a cycle of hope and despair for many years. There were significant cuts to funding in 2010 and the sector has not been greatly valued. However, a new coalition government was elected in 2017 has breathed new life into the sector with the promise of new policy settings and a five-year Tertiary Education Strategy that acknowledges the role that the ACE sector can play. This session will outline the past, present and possible future shape of ACE in New Zealand and the accompanying challenges and opportunities.
