We are very pleased that the PASCAL Observatory and its Learning Cities Networks, with their European centre hosted by CR&DALL at the University of Glasgow, are partners in the 2021 Global Learning Festival being organised from 8-11 November by the cities of Wyndham and Melton in Australia. Many of the member cities of the LCN are making contributions, including Medellin, Taipei, Wolverhampton and of course Wyndham itself.

Welcome to our third issue of Quest for 2021 which features great stories unearthed during Adult Learners Week — from keynote speakers, learning ambassadors, scholarship winners and more.

This briefing summarizes emergent findings from public policy analysis and interviews with 50 citizens of Medellin from a variety of sectors in 2020, many of whom had directly participated in the societal transformation that began during the 1980s. We aim to show that cultural inclusion, democratic and civic culture are crucial aspects of Medellin's cultural transformation.

How will we remember 2021? The year of COVID-19 (variant Delta) and what it meant to oneself, one’s family, community, life, work, even country?.
