On 15th of April, the European Commission will have the pleasure to launch officially EPALE, the Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe, during a one-day event in Brussels, and we would very much like to welcome you as a virtual participant!

Work-based and work-related learning in higher education for adult learners is seen as crucial to address the predicted labour market skills gap identified in such communiques as: New Skills for New Jobs Anticipating and matching labour market and skills needs; and, An Agenda for new skills and jobs: A European contribution towards full employment as part of the Europe 2020 strategy.
Opening Educational Practices in Scotland - open advisory forum The OEPS project has a focus on open education in the context of widening participation and transitions and we are very keen to have a broad range of participants at the event. It should also be of interest to anyone interested in learning and teaching and curriculum development.
This was a half-day seminar to introduce aspects of intergenerational learning, tutoring and research. The day was introduced by Prof Vonu Thakuriah, director of the Urban Big Data Centre at the University of Glasgow, who introduced links between lifelong learning and the aims of the centre (for example, inclusion, access and transportation).
PASCAL is very pleased to announce that the next PASCAL International Conference will be hosted from 7-9 October 2015 by the University of Catania in Italy with the title, Connecting Cities and Universities at Strategic Frontiers, and under the co-ordination of PASCAL Associate Director in Europe, Professor Roberta Piazza.
You are all invited to a half-day seminar to introduce aspects of intergenerational learning, tutoring and research on February 24 from 12:30-16:00 at the Urban Big Data Centre, 7 Lilybank Gardens, Glasgow G12 8RZ.
Speakers include Jane Watts of NIACE, Tiina Tambaum, Tallin University, Estonia and Alison Clyde, National Development Officer at Generations Working Together.
Registration and call for submissions for the 2015 GAPS Conference 'Access to Higher Education: Meeting the Global Challenge' is now open.
Universities with Access Agreements are developing a range of initiatives to attract and retain students from social groups currently under-represented in higher education. As a result there is an increased emphasis at both national and institutional level on assessing the longer term impact of widening participation strategies.
