Stephanie Young contributes to International Issues in Adult and Continuing Education. She is a Honorary Professor within the School of Education.
Staff Profile
Until 2011, Stephanie Young was Director, Strategic Relations for Skills Development Scotland. She was previously Senior Director, Skills and Learning within Scottish Enterprise Glasgow where she led on a diverse range of creative skills and learning interventions. These included the internationally award winning physical and virtual learning environment, The Real Network as well as the design and delivery of the largest sectoral skills plan in the UK.
Recognised as an innovative skills and learning professional, her experience spans all aspects of strategic planning, organisational development and human resource development.
A graduate of Edinburgh and Leicester Universities, Stephanie is a Visiting Professor at the University of Glasgow and a Fellow of the RSA. Stephanie’s achievements have led to her being been recognised by the press as a public sector hero.
She lectures internationally on skills and learning and has contributed to a number of books on skills and learning. Her current interests include learning futures, the role of cultural innovators, personalisation and co-creation in learning and she is currently writing a book with the working title of “What skills will matter in the 21st Century”
